Advanced DSE & Workstation Assessments

A DSE (Display Screen Equipment) assessment is a comprehensive evaluation of how an individual interacts with their digital environment—including monitors, laptops, seating, and peripherals. Under the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992, these assessments are a legal requirement for employees who use screens daily for prolonged periods.

At Resilient Futures Coach, I provide a premium, expert-led service that integrates technical ergonomic expertise with a holistic focus on the user’s mental and physical resilience.
When is a DSE Assessment Required?
A professional assessment is a legal requirement and a vital part of employee "duty of care" in these scenarios:
-
New Starters: To ensure a healthy foundation from day one.
-
Environment Changes: During office moves or transitions to home/hybrid working.
-
Equipment Changes: Following the installation of new software, hardware, or furniture.
-
Physical Discomfort: When an employee reports pain, eye strain, or fatigue.
-
Health Status: In response to a new injury, long-term health condition, or pregnancy.
-
Biennial Reviews: Recommended every two years to identify risks early and maintain compliance.

Why Invest in Professional Assessments?
Poor workstation ergonomics are a leading cause of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs). Without expert intervention, these issues can lead to:
-
Chronic Pain: Persistent neck, shoulder, and back discomfort.
-
Physical Strain: Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI) and "Tech Neck".
-
Mental Fatigue: Eye strain, headaches, and reduced cognitive focus.
-
Business Impact: Increased sickness absence and reduced productivity.

What You Receive
Whether auditing an individual or a large team, every assessment includes:
-
Full Written Report: A comprehensive document for your records, detailing the existing setup and identified risks.
-
Action Plan: Clear, proactive steps for both the line manager and the employee to ensure long-term comfort and safety.
-
Product Recommendations: Expert advice on specific ergonomic furniture or accessories (keyboards, mice, etc.) that may assist with specific MSDs.
-
Equality Act Support: Guidance on "reasonable adjustments" for employees with disabilities, chronic pain, or neurodiversity needs.
The Outcome: A More Resilient Workforce
By identifying risks early, we don't just ensure compliance—we boost productivity and morale. My goal is to create a workspace that supports the person, allowing them to focus on their future.
